Bio

Award winning author LaVerne Adekunle  was most recently appointed, ‘Who’s Who Among Executives and Professionals’, 2008-2009. LaVerne is also an award winning Community Service Leader, founder of the Campaign for Christ, Sunday School program, Community Service Youth Council II, and Kidzpluz+, a childhood obesity program, just to name a few of her accomplishments. Her first anthology book written with eight friends was published spring 2008 subtitle It’s Your Time and a book co-written with her son Macaiah. LaVerne’s new book, The World’s Luckiest Journal won the 2011 International Book Award in the (Spiritual-Journal category). LaVerne is an Essence Award Nominee for 2011 and the 2011 USA & International Book Award Winner.  She also has many unpublished writings since the age of thirteen. She wrote a brochure called “He Sent His Word” and co-authored a training marketing manual. Six years ago, she wrote a poem, a play, & a song called “The Attributes of the Man of God” that debuted in her church.

 

LaVerne grew up in Vidalia GA. & graduated from high school in Blytheville AR. She attended college at Aenon Bible College & Cuyahoga Community College. LaVerne graduated from US Career Institute as a Certified Fitness Instructor & Nutrition Specialist. This woman is creative and inspiring. Another idea she conceived and brought to reality is the World’s first Bridal & Beauty Brands under the umbrella of La DivaPillows LLC., which she founded and is considering licensing the product. Recently while working with crafts to help others she discovered the Gmompad.  LaVerne considers herself an helper to others.  She started a talent blog called laExpose’ which gathered a lot of buzz helping professionals get exposure laExpose’  Blog.  In six months the blog turned into an organization with talents from 14 countries planning global talent shows. LaVerne received a commendation for community service from past President Bill Clinton and Points of Light Award for the Youth Council. In addition, she’s been recognized for serving a term in General Colin Powell’s program America’s Promise. LaVerne served as the Promise Fellow contact person for the State of Arkansas. While serving as the Promise Fellow she organized a County Youth Summit and the honorable Lt.Gov.Winthrop Rockefeller keynoted her event.  LaVerne also organized The County Community Service Awards for 2 years recognizing leaders throughout the county for their volunteer service. Congressman Marion Barry keynoted both county-wide events. She has been an honored guest at many events and featured as a motivational and keynote speaker.  LaVerne graduated from Blytheville Leadership Institute and spearheaded Chamber President Roast n Toast. She served as the secretary of Democrat Women of Mississippi County and served on a Committee for her local Chamber of Commerce the United Way and Main Street.  Her volunteer history is extensive from the Girl Scouts, Red Cross to The Domestic Violence Ctr called the Haven. Travel is one of her joys and some of her most impressive experiences have been in Europe, the Caribbean and Africa. From childhood to adulthood, LaVerne has been involved in numerous community services and ministry organizations.

LaVerne is an interesting story having raised a child with cerebral palsy and survived extremely abusive relationships that sent her underground for a while has emerged determined to be mentally free and to become a successful entrepreneur. She states all her event organizing lead her to becoming Producer of laExpose’ live Reality Talk & Infomercials.

LaVerne and her son Macaiah founded FVRD2Win specializing marketing, domestic violence speaking and talent exposure.www.Fvrd2Win.com  laExpose’ chose one two projects for there community service projects.
